Retail sales in the U.S. unexpectedly rose in January, easing concern that the world’s largest economy has already slipped into a recession. 17,000 jobs dissapeared in January. The US government reported Friday, the first decline in the work force in more than four years, and the strongest signal that the United States may be in a recession already. It seems that the collapse of the housing bubble is rippling through the rest of the economy.
